The second edition of the “Festoye du Mansuy”, organized by the Rapière Déodatienne in partnership with the Première Compagnie d’Arc de Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, the City and the Community of Agglomeration, is approaching since it will take place on weekend of July 9 and 10. At the Parc Jean-Mansuy but also at the Espace François-Mitterrand Admission at the rate of 1 euro – Free for children who pass under the custody of the 2-handed sword.
Richer, bigger and more professional than that of last year, the Déodatienne medieval festival will concentrate many activities, the complete program of which can be found below:
Continuous over 2 days
- Introduction to sports and artistic fencing;
- Introduction to archery;
- Introduction to crossbow shooting for children;
- Creation of ancient bows and arrows by live bow and arrow makers.
- Precious Arts Space:
- Museum of ancient instruments, illumination, tapestry;
- Tempera painting workshops on parchment and scriptorium around the medieval binding on leather and wood.
- Demonstration of blacksmithing and flame glassware;
- Live medieval music by a company of troubadours;
- Medieval camp, reconstruction of medieval life;
- Basketry workshop;
- Embroidery workshop;
- Tales for children under the tent;
- Educational workshops on the weapons and armor of the man-at-arms and the knight, training of the little knights, awarding of diplomas and souvenir photos;
- Medieval playground;
- Medieval market;
- Catering;
- And a 7m high trebuchet!
Saturday July 9
- 10 a.m.: opening;
- 11 a.m.: official inauguration;
- 2 p.m.-4 p.m.-6 p.m.: ancient fencing fights in costume;
- 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.: dog team on a stroll;
- 10:30 p.m.: fire show.
Sunday July 10
- 9h : ouverture ;
- 2 p.m.-4 p.m.-6 p.m.: ancient fencing fights in costume;
- 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.: dog team on a stroll;
- 6 p.m.: concert by the Trecanum ensemble at the temple of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges at the end of the feast.
Monday July 11: illumination workshop for children at the Pierre-Noël museum.
