FC Bayern: This is how Sadio Mané’s first days in Munich go – Bundesliga

Tomorrow it’s finally time: Servus, Sadio Mané (30)!

Then Bayern’s king transfer to the medical check in Munich is expected. The Liverpool star is moving to Bayern Munich for EUR 32m plus a maximum of EUR 9m in bonus payments and has a three-year contract.

He is to be officially presented in the Allianz Arena on Wednesday afternoon. The big stage for a world star!

Most recently, coach Julian Nagelsmann (34) was presented there in the summer of 2021. In terms of players, it was 80 million Lucas Hernández in 2019 (26/record purchases in the Bundesliga to date). Only in the case of very special transfers does the record champion choose this place for the presentation.

What still needs to be clarified: What shirt number does the Senegalese get?

Mané has worn the number 10 for most of his career, including the last four years with Liverpool and also with Senegal’s national team. Leroy Sané (26) currently has Mané’s favorite number at Bayern.

What fans still need to know about the new offensive star…

► Mané already speaks a little German. That comes from his time at RB Salzburg (2012 to 2014).

► In 2015 Bayern Mané was on the screen for the first time. But the club decided to sign Douglas Costa, who came from Shakhtar Donetsk for €30m. Now, seven years later, it was no longer just observation: Coach Julian Nagelsmann (34) really wanted Mané. Above all, he appreciates the flexibility of the attacker (wing and striker).

► Nagelsmann plans with him on the outside. However, Mané can also play up front – just like he did at Liverpool towards the end of last season, including in the Champions League final against Real Madrid (0-1).

► Another plus point: Nagelsmann and Mané get along well and were last in contact via WhatsApp.

For Mané’s ex-coach Roger Schmidt (55/a total of 79 games together at RB Salzburg) there is no question that the Senegalese will also be successful in Munich. Schmidt: “He can help every team in the world – including Bayern Munich.”
