The transfer poker for Sadio Mané (30) continues!
As the English newspaper “Daily Mail” reports, Liverpool FC is now expecting FC Bayern’s third offer for the star striker.
BILD knows: The people of Munich have not yet deposited a third coal package, but are currently discussing the demands of the Klopp club internally. The Bayern bosses want to continue to sit down with the English to find a solution.
Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic (45) wants to fly to Liverpool in the next few days for a quick agreement. CEO Oliver Kahn (52) should also be there. The Mané deal has top priority for the record champions, so they want to quickly follow up.
Brazzo is in constant contact with Julian Ward (40/new sports director of the Reds) about the negotiations. Salihamidzic has been pushing the transfer for weeks and met with Mané consultant Björn Bezemer (“ROOF” agency, based in the upmarket Munich suburb of Grünwald) in Mallorca at the beginning of May.
But in poker, Bayern have a decisive trump card: Mané has made a clear commitment to FC Bayern internally at Liverpool and definitely wants to switch to Munich. This forces the Reds to sell the Senegalese this summer if they still want a fee (contract until 2023).
Even at the Klopp club, the bosses should assume that they will find a quick agreement with Munich and the transfer will go through!
Because internally, according to the “Liverpool Echo”, those responsible have accepted that the Senegalese is looking for a new challenge after six years. Coach Jürgen Klopp (54) is said to have already given the green light for Mané to go to Munich.
One thing is clear: For an agreement in transfer poker, Bayern have to offer even more!
They started with a fixed fee of EUR 25 million and bonus payments of EUR 5.5 million. Liverpool originally wanted 50 million euros. Then the Bavarians increased quickly to 27.5 million euros fixed plus 7.5 million euros in bonuses. The Reds also rejected this offer. Liverpool now want €45m for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations winners.
There is also movement in the Mané deal because the Klopp club already has a replacement!
According to the “Guardian” and “Liverpool Echo”, the Champions League finalist now wants to make Benfica an offer of 80 million euros plus 20 million euros in bonus payments for Darwin Nuñez (22). The Portuguese demand at least 100 million euros. Liverpool have already agreed a five-year deal with the Uruguay striker, according to The Athletic.
BILD knows: For Salihamidzic, Benfica’s shooting star was also at the top of the list. There was a lot of discussion about Nuñez internally at Bayern. In terms of play, however, he should not fit perfectly into the system of coach Julian Nagelsmann (34). Now the Klopp club strikes!
