FC Bayern Munich’s million-dollar poker game involving Liverpool’s star striker Sadio Mané is over. The record champion reports completion: The 30-year-old international from Senegal is moving to Munich.

Sstar striker Sadio Mané becomes a Munich player. According to information from “Bild”, the tough Bayern poker game for the Senegalese international from Liverpool FC has ended. Mané is switching to the German record champions for 32 million euros plus a maximum of nine million euros in bonus payments. The Bundesliga now has one more attraction.

Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidžić made the transfer of the king in England perfect. Also present: Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward and Mané consultant Björn Bezemer. Mané himself, as well as Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp and Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, were absent from the final conversation.

According to “Bild” information, Liverpool ultimately wanted 40 million euros plus five million euros in bonuses for Mané. The Bayern bosses didn’t want to go over the 40-million mark, the English now bargained down. The 30-year-old gets a three-year contract with Munich.

The transfer had top priority for Bayern and especially for chief squad planner Salihamidzic. The execution could now also bring movement to Robert Lewandowski’s personnel. The world footballer wants to leave FC Bayern one year before the contract expires. The goal of the Polish goalscorer is FC Barcelona. So far, however, there is still a statement from the Bayern management about CEO Oliver Kahn that Lewandowski will not be allowed to go this summer.

Liverpool had rejected the first two Bayern offers

His contract in Munich, like – actually – that of Mané in Liverpool expires on June 30, 2023. Bayern had agreed to work with the attacker early on. Mané could also play in the storm center – where Lewandowski has been active so far.

Jürgen Klopp’s club initially thought a transfer fee of the equivalent of 49.75 million euros was reportedly an appropriate transfer fee and, according to media reports, had still rejected the first two Bayern offers. Most recently, there was talk of a further improved offer.

Mané is his country’s record goalscorer. He won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2019. In 2020 he became English champion with the team. The club had already signed a replacement for Mané with the €100m transfer of striker Darwin Nuñez from Benfica Lisbon.

Meanwhile, according to the media, Marc Roca (25) is leaving Bayern: The central midfielder is moving to Leeds United in the summer.
