‘I feel deeply hurt’

AMSTERDAM – “This is a piece of pain that I will always carry with me,” says Adriana Jelinkova. The most successful alpine skier in our country has made the remarkable choice to compete for her second home country, the Czech Republic, from next season. This has everything to do with her disturbed relationship with the Dutch Ski Association. Top sports organ NOC * NSF now also says it sees no more fertile ground for a collaboration with Jelinkova and her team. The 27-year-old athlete from Oegstgeest shares her side of the story for the first time. “I never wanted it that way.”
