At the last minute, the Lakers managed to invite themselves to the second round of the Draft with quite a valuable choice. Rob Pelinka picked a high-potential player, a former high school star, and according to Draymond Green it would be the jackpot. The champion foresees a great future for the Purple and Gold rookie!
Thanks to a rather unexpected exchange this Thursdaythe Lakers managed to invite themselves to the Draft, they who had nevertheless mortgaged their future when bringing in Anthony Davis. So obviously, they didn’t manage to make it to the first round, they didn’t have the trump cards, but their 35th choice, at the top of the second round, gave them a good chance to find a nugget.
Especially since over the past few years, the Lakers have often managed to find interesting players in these not necessarily very attractive places on Draft night. Talen Horton-Tucker, for example, came from the second round, Austin Reaves was not even selected last season, and yet both have had an important role in the Purple and Gold rotation in recent months.
Draymond Green hyped by Max Christie at the Lakers
In the end, it is the back Max Christie who was selected by Rob Pelinka and his teams, and the former Michigan State should bring his address to Los Angeles. If his 31% 3-point success is not necessarily reassuring on paper, his shooting mechanics are almost perfect, and everything suggests that he will make the transition to the NBA game easily. Besides, Draymond Green sees him as an All-Star.
Another 35th pick from Michigan State. History says he’s going to be an All-Star 🤷🏿♂️

Another 35th draft pick from Michigan State. History says he will be All-Star 🤷🏽♂️
10 years ago, during the 2012 Draft, it was Draymond Green who was selected in 35th position when he left Michigan State, we know what happened to him and the Warriors. Lakers fans have to hope that Christie follows the same trajectory and makes a serious contribution to the franchise’s future titles. In any case, they are quite happy with this choice.

The Lakers managed to secure a Draft pick on Thursday, and they obviously made good use of it. If the prediction of Draymond Green is good and that Max Christie becomes an All-Star one day, the franchise will have made an excellent poker move.
