Djuka’s renovation gets complicated

The renewal of one of the names of the summer in Sporting code is stuck. Djuka keeps parked the offer presented by the club to extend his relationship until 2026, while his agent has begun to point out an alternative, with a foreign team closely following his situation. One year after the end of his contract, the Montenegrin is an important footballer for Abelardo and he wants to continue in Gijón, unless he receives an offer that convinces all parties to transfer him. The club from Gijón has valued him at 5 million. The change in Sporting’s shareholding could unclog the situation in one way or another, with Javier Fernández as one of its great guarantors since his arrival.

No progress. This is how the last contacts between Djuka and his agent, Darko Ristic, have ended this week to, among other things, revisit the renewal offer presented to him by Sporting to tie him up for the next four seasons, that is, until 2026, as and how THE NEW SPAIN advanced. In this sense, his entourage is more reluctant to extend his contract in Gijón. Like the Montenegro coach, they believe that the time has come for him to make the leap to the First Division. The footballer wants to continue in Spain if he is transferred this summer, but it is abroad where he has more alternatives close to the valuation established by Sporting.

Djuka is currently Sporting’s star player. He is one of the best paid, if not the best, and aims to start the preseason with his future unresolved. The footballer said goodbye before the holidays, making it clear that his intention was to open the summer in Mareo. Later, the market and the intentions of the club would dictate sentence. It would be the fifth season as a rojiblanco footballer. Few or no members of the staff expected to find a club sale on the way back to work. The claims of the Orlegi Group, in the event of completing a shareholder change, may be key when it comes to knowing what will happen to Djuka, as with a few other footballers. If the player has a special relationship with one person, it is with Javier Fernández, who defended him when, upon his arrival, many questioned his ability to succeed at Sporting. Not only did he stay there, but in September 2019, before he broke out to score, he extended his contract.

Djuka comes from scoring 22 goals in the 2020-21 campaign and 14 in 2021-22, the latter being his second best record in Gijón despite the fact that the team was flirting with relegation. The possible arrival of the Orlegi Group to the Gijón team will determine what their role will be, in addition to studying the situations of Fran Villalba or Manu García, two footballers for whom the sports management is looking for a way out during the summer. Without registrations yet to be closed, despite the fact that the rojiblanco club has already touched a large bouquet of footballers, the needs are clear: the team must still take on some ten incorporations. Everything, waiting for whether or not there is a new owner.
