The German basketball coach, Gordon Herbert, today showed his joy at the return of point guard Dennis Schröder, from the Houston Rockets of the NBA league, who will be able to participate in the qualifying matches for the 2023 World Cup.
“He can be the differential player for us,” said Herbert ahead of tomorrow’s game against Estonia in the Baltic country’s capital and Sunday against Poland in the German city of Bremen.
Unlike what happened last year, when there were problems with the terms of the player’s insurance, Herbert will now be able to count on the athlete, who plays in the North American basketball league. Already in Tallinn, he could play his 50th appearance as a German international.
Regarding the need to score points in these two games in order to advance to the next qualifying round of the 2023 World Cup, Herbert stated: “The window is very important for us. Many will already be thinking about the Eurobasket, but we We focus on the two qualifiers”.
The Eurobasket will start on September 1 in the German cities of Cologne and Berlin.
