Deandre Ayton, Detroit’s number one target

If the Pistons decided to send Jerami Grant to the Blazers against a few Draft picks, it was because they wanted to recover as much money as possible to hit hard on the “free agency” market. The Pistons already had one of the biggest envelopes, and now they can take advantage of an additional twenty million to afford one or two very good players.

According to The Athletic, with its 43 million dollars, the Pistons will position themselves on Deandre Ayton, whose days in Phoenix would be numbered. The interior still has it in the throat that it was not extended a year ago, and according to our colleagues, relations between the player and his leaders have “deteriorated” over the course of the season.

As Phoenix will never let his player go without compensation, we would move towards a “sign-and-trade”, and the Suns could limit the damage by recovering a few young people like Isaiah Stewart. A priori, Saddiq Bey is untouchable. Just like Cade Cunningham obviously.

If the Pistons manage to recover Deandre Ayton, they can rely on a formidable “one-two punch” with Cade Cunningham to put him in orbit.
