David Kevlishvili judoka of Georgian origin, 17 years old, gets the silver for Spain in the category of more than 90Kg. It was the only medal won by the Spanish team in the European Under-18 , in which 41 countries participated. David is waiting to turn 18 to apply for Spanish nationality and be able to continue representing Spain.
Four Valencians
From June 24 to 26, the European U-18 Judo Championships were held in Perec-Croatia. Four judokas from the Valencian federation were selected to represent Spain on this occasion: Pablo Millán, in the 50Kg category; David Kevlishvili at +90Kg.; Aitana Diaz at -48 and Aitana Sala at +70.
Davit Kevlishvili, managed to reach the final in a spectacular way won by Ippon to the representatives of Ukraine; Cyprus and Romania. In the end though he dominated the fight against another Ukrainian representative, he failed to score, giving up by wazari against the Ukrainian and getting the silver medal for Spain.
On the other hand, Aitana Diaz and Davit have been selected for represent Spain in the next U21 World Championship to be held next August in Ecuador.
