Cuba wins and three players are part of the NORCECA volleyball ideal team

The West Indian team defeated its similar from Costa Rica 3×0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-15), as part of the last day of the NORCECA Final Four Challenger for women’s volleyball that was held these days in Sonora, Mexico.

The top scorers for Cuba were the captain of the Thainalien Castillo team with 11 points, the opposite Dezirett Madan with 10 and the auxiliary Claudia Tarín with 9 units, in a match where the Central Americans were outclassed in all departments, such as attack, block , service and mistakes made.

In this way, the students of DT Joel Olazábal and Regla Torres, concluded in second position, behind the Mexican hosts, who did not lose a single set and won the quota for next year’s World Challenger.

Up to three Cubans were placed in the all-star team of the tournament. Thainalien Castillo was the best spiker, while Dezirett Madan was the best opposite and Claudia Tarín the best server.

Before the last game of the Cubans, members of the organizing committee of the event, the Mexican Volleyball Federation and other entities in the region, honored the presence of world volleyball legend Regla Torres, who travels as part of the technical group of selection, for his successful sports career.
