The Ministry of Culture, Language Policy and Tourism of the Principality of Asturias has approved the call for subsidies for Asturias sports clubs participating in high-level official competitions during the 2021/2022 season, as well as for basic sports clubs for the organization of sporting events during 2022.
Both calls are published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) on that Monday. The deadline for submitting the grant application is 20 business days for the two lines of subsidies from the publication in the BOPA.
Aid for high-level and basic sports clubs
In the first case, the aid is intended for basic sports clubs and Asturian non-sports entity clubs that participate in high-level official competitions in the sports modalities of track and field, badminton, basketball, wheelchair basketball, handball, baseball/softball, football, indoor soccer, gymnastics, roller hockey, speed skating, canoeing, rugby, table tennis and volleyball.
The total amount of subsidies for sports clubs is €340,000, with a maximum of €22,000 per project.
In the case of non-professional sport, the aid is intended to Basic sports clubs of the Principality of Asturias, legally constituted, that organize sporting events during the 2022 financial year. In this sense, the organization of sporting events included in the calendar of official competitions of the corresponding sports federations will be financed, as well as those competitions whose tradition and popularity make them worthy of a differentiated treatment.
The total amount of subsidies for sports clubs is €80,000, with a maximum of €9,000 per project.
