Carlos Tevez hangs shoes on the hook after father’s death: “I’ve lost my biggest fan” | football

Carlos Tevez did not see his contract with his youth club Boca Juniors extended last summer. The attacker has since been without a club and now says that he will no longer continue his career.

“I am retired. There were many offers, including from the United States, but I gave everything. I stopped playing because I lost my biggest fan,” the Argentinian referred to the death of his father.

Tevez took his first steps at the highest level in 2001, when he made his debut for Boca Juniors. After a wandering with the Brazilian Corinthians, he ended up in the Premier League with West Ham.

The Argentinian immediately made a name for himself across the Channel, earning him a dream transfer to Manchester United. Although the eccentric striker exchanged the red side of Manchester after 2 seasons for the blue neighbors of Manchester City.

This was followed by passages at Juventus and the Chinese Shanghai Shenhua, after which he eventually returned to Boca Juniors for a 3rd time. Tevez also collected 76 caps for the Argentina national team, scoring 13 goals.
