Borussia Mönchengladbach: This is how Daniel Farke wants to change Gladbach – Bundesliga

Farke statt Favre!

Daniel Farke (45) is Gladbach’s new coach after the rejection of Lucien Favre (64), he signed a contract until 2025 (BILD reported).

At a press conference in Gladbach, Farke spoke for the first time about his new job.

This is how Farke wants to turn Gladbach upside down!

The new Gladbach coach, who is working in the Bundesliga for the first time: “It fills me with pride and it’s an honor for me to be able to lead such a fantastic club. I approach the task with anticipation, respect, but also humility.”

Farke made it clear what the “new” Borussia should look like under his leadership: “In its tradition, Gladbach has always stood for football that was characterized by dominance, possession of the ball, creativity and enthusiasm. That’s what Borussia stands for – and that’s where I find myself with my ideas.”

Farke sees the Foals as a good basis for this type of football, with which Borussia has also had success in the last 10 years: “We have a lot of playful guys in the squad. It is important to find a good balance. Of course, the team conceded too many goals recently.”

Without going into detail, Farke naturally wants to redesign the team a little according to his ideas: “We need a good transfer summer, we have to make good decisions. Of course, it will not be easy to fulfill all transfer wishes. But the club has already prepared a few things very well in the background.”

It is very important for Farke to put the team spirit in the whole staff back in the foreground!

The new Gladbach coach: “In modern football, you won’t use the whip to tease out top performances anymore. As a coach, you lead a group of 25 to 30 players – each of them wants to play every second. My goal is to take the whole group with me and create incredible cohesion. Taking a whole group with you with empathy is just as important as other content in football.”

Although he is still a blank slate in the Bundesliga, Farke has a lot of experience – at the highest level – from his time in the English Premier League.

Klartext Farke: “In Norwich I managed it quite well for the possibilities of the club. You’re constantly challenged: on Saturday it’s against Pep Guardiola, on Wednesday against Jürgen Klopp and on Saturday Thomas Tuchel comes on.
