BILD comment: Show us, Mario Götze – Bundesliga

This transfer feels good!

Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt brings World Cup hero Mario Götze back to the Bundesliga.

There is much to suggest that the change can make club and player happy.

Eintracht gets valuable 62 games of Champions League experience and more playing quality. At the same time, a big-name transfer for three million euros credibly documents that the club is not going crazy financially after the European Cup triumph.

At the age of 30, Götze gets the chance to show the Bundesliga again.

After his child prodigy phase, culminating in a world champion goal, he fell short of expectations at Bayern and Dortmund from 2015 to 2020.

Götze could have switched to the USA or to Lisbon. He would have been the center of attention there too, but in Germany the hype surrounding him will be even greater. Once a World Cup hero, always a World Cup hero.

The fact that he still opted for Eintracht speaks for his self-confidence. And it also speaks to the amazing Eintracht supporters who have become an important factor when players decide where to go.

Welcome back, dear Mario Götze!

Show the world that you are better than many have realized in recent years…
