Berrettini bat Van De Zandschulp et file en final du Queen’s face à Krajinovic, tombeur de Cilic

Despite a postponement and a short interruption due to rain, Matteo Berrettini qualified for the final of the ATP tournament on grass at Queen’s, of which he is the defending champion, by beating the Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (29th) on Saturday ( 6-4, 6-3).

Already a winner in Stuttgart, the Italian confirmed his great form on this surface nine days before the start of Wimbledon. He left his opponent no chance, despite a lot of waste on break points: he only converted three of the 15 obtained.

A final against Krajinovic

Delayed by an hour due to the rains that followed the scorching heat of the last few days, the match had to be interrupted again at 6-4, 3-2 and break point to follow in favor of Berrettini, at large displeasure of his adversary.

But the good service, the heavy strikes and the excellent footwork of the Italian, currently 10th in the ATP rankings, made the difference in just 1h30. Returning from injury in Stuttgart last week, the Roman is therefore still undefeated since his return from injury.

In the final, he will face Filip Krajinovic. The Serb dominated in two sets Marin Cilic, twice winner of the tournament, during the second semi-final (6-3, 6-3).
