Benjamin Bonzi beaten by Jenson Brooksby in the second round of Wimbledon

A final forehand down the hall and Wimbledon was over in the second round for Benjamin Bonzi. Despite a serious match, the Frenchman was outclassed by Jenson Brooksby in three sets (7-6 [3], 7-5, 6-3). The two men however fought on equal terms for a long time during the 2h37 match, but Bonzi was too irregular. Because if he managed 40 winning shots (30 for Brooksby), he also committed 43 unforced errors (26 for his opponent). As often, especially on grass, it was all about the details and Brooksby’s consistency allowed him to emerge victorious. The American will face Cristian Garin in the third round.
