Before Game 1, Draymond drops a big truth-bomb!

The Finals between Golden State and the Celtics are approaching, and it’s time for big statements on both sides. On the Californian side, Draymond Green was particularly vocal towards his future opponents… One player in particular caught his attention.

A priori, it does not seem indecent to say that the Warriors are the big favorites of the upcoming series against Boston. Steve Kerr’s squad has experience of this stage of the competition, which is not at all the case for the camp opposite which has not seen the Finals for a dozen years. Draymond Green & co. therefore know as well as anyone how to adapt to the evolution of the opposition, which could make the difference in hot moments for example.

However, the 2017 DPOY does not want to put the cart before the horse, aware that everything can change in no time. After all, Golden State was the favorite in 2019 before falling to the Raptors… As a result, caution is in order according to the big man who warns that it will not be easy to overcome the Celtics. In particular, he is openly suspicious of Jayson Tatum, explaining that the winger was, according to him, part of the cream of the league:

Green’s big compliment for Jayson Tatum

We’ve been waiting for them for weeks, months now. Their defense is absolutely amazing. They have a good offense, and more importantly, on offense they have a guy who is one of the best in the league. Jaylen Brown is a very good player of course, but Jayson Tatum is one of those players who are really special.

When you have that, you always have a chance to win – when you have a guy like that. You couple that with all these pieces around him, the defense around him, they have veteran leadership. You couple that with all the things that are around him and you look and say, “Wow, they really have what it takes.”

With 27 points, nearly 7 rebounds and 6 assists on average, the former Duke University player is having a very high-level playoff campaign and has taken his entire team in his wake, releasing some very good performances against each opponent. C’s. Suffice to say that it arrives reassembled to block and it is ideal to motivate the troops. We can also imagine that the Dancing Bear will be personally on a defensive mission on him, in order to contain him as much as possible.

Draymond Green has a lot of respect for Jayson Tatum and the Celtics, and thinks they’re going to be a huge challenge in the Finals. It will be interesting to see how the Dubs defense will adapt to the winger, who has settled into the table of the current greatest players this season.
