Bayern stay tuned to the DFB youngster

Florian Wirtz surprisingly extended his contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2027 this week. According to current reports, the Werkself have set a financial pain threshold at the same time, for which the youngster would be allowed to go before the end of the contract. According to reports, FC Bayern is still working on the DFB youngster.

Due to Wirtz’s early contract extension, Bayern don’t have to worry about another top club snatching the player from Munich for the time being. However, as Marc Behrenbeck from “Sky” reports, Leverkusen would be quite willing to sell the German international from 100 million euros. The offensive player should not have a fixed exit clause in his new contract, the club and the player have an “oral agreement”.

Wirtz is flirting with a move to Bayern

Wirtz is currently out due to a cruciate ligament injury, which is why the main thing for him in the coming months is to get back on the pitch and find his old form again after such a serious injury. According to “BILD”, Bayern are still interested in Wirtz and continue to monitor the situation of the national player closely: “FC Bayern definitely has Wirtz on the list for the future. The people of Munich also see it very positively that he wants to develop and mature in Leverkusen,” explained “BILD” football boss Christian Falk to “FCBinside”.

It is interesting: According to Falk, Wirtz is quite open to a move to the German record champions: “As long as no other club tries harder to get Wirtz away from Leverkusen, there is no need for action for Bayern for the time being. Only if there is a risk of losing him abroad, for example, would they have to take action. What should reassure the bosses: Bavaria knows that Wirtz would like to play for Munich in the future.

Will Wirtz become Bayern’s record transfer?

Bayern have never put 100 million euros on the table for a player before. Lucas Hernandez cost a proud 80 million and thus rose to FCB’s record transfer in the summer of 2019. However, it cannot be ruled out that Munich will dig deep into their pockets for one of the most promising attacking talents in German football in the future.
