The transfer carousel is slowly but surely gaining momentum, at least for the strikers. However, so far not in favor of VfB star Sasa Kalajdzic (24).
Bayern and Dortmund initially showed strong interest in the Stuttgarter, and there were also talks with both clubs. But Bayern gets Mané, Dortmund favors Haller (BILD reported).
Where can Kalajdzic go now?
According to BILD information, the greatest interest is currently coming from the Premier League. Advisor Sascha Empacher was on the island for talks last week. Tottenham still has Ösi on the screen. Last year, the Londoners had him on their list as a potential successor to superstar Harry Kane, who was willing to change. But Kane stayed contrary to expectations.
Brighton is currently making the most concrete efforts. However, ninth in the league is not the top club that Kalajdzic actually wants for his next step.
AS Roma with star trainer José Mourinho have also been eyeing the VfB attacker for a long time. Kalajdzic’s style of play fits perfectly into the Mourinho system. However, there have not yet been any concrete talks with the Romans. For Kalajdzic, a move to Italy would only be an emergency solution.
VfB does not want to let Ösi (contract until 2023) pay less than 25 million euros.
If the summer change fails, Stuttgart wants to extend the contract by a year and increase the salary accordingly. This would ensure that the striker would not leave VfB on a free transfer next summer either.
