Basketball. LEB silver | Bahía San Agustín negotiates the signing of point guard Rafa García

CB Bahía San Agustín is negotiating the hiring of point guard Rafa García, a player who last season played for the Gran Canaria subsidiary and who has been one of the most prominent this past season in the LEB Plata. If the deal is closed, he would be the fourth player on the squad after Joan Feliu, Xavi Andreu and American center Joseph Smoyer.

Born in Granada in June 2000, Rafael García Salame has been usual in recent seasons in the FEB leagues (EBA and Silver) and play one season in the ACB. Formed in Granada and after going through Unicaja Málaga, in 2017 he signed with Obradoiro. A year later he was transferred to Culleredo, in a season of bad memories for García, since He was seriously injured twice: in September 2018 suffered the rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament of the right knee and, after returning to the track, in February 2019 he injured his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus on the left.

He returned to the Obradoiro subsidiary, playing in the 2019-20 campaign in the EBA League and moving up to the ACB first team in the summer of 2020. That season he came to play 18 matches in the Endesa League.

In August 2021 he signed for the Gran Canaria, playing in the subsidiary of LEB Plataa category in which he has posted averages of 10.2 points, 5 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 30 minutes per game.
