Former professional Anton Gavel is the new coach of the Bundesliga basketball team ratiopharm Ulm.
The 37-year-old succeeds Slovenian Jaka Lakovic, who has migrated to the Spanish top team Gran Canaria, the club announced.
Gavel, who was a five-time German champion and four-time cup winner as a player with Brose Baskets Bamberg and FC Bayern Munich, will receive a two-year contract with the Swabians.
