Basketball: Bryan Colon rebounds at the Geneva Lions

The 30-year-old leader, who has spent the last six seasons at Union Neuchâtel, has signed up with the Pommier club for one more year as an option.

Geneva strikes a blow on the Swiss transfer market. In full reconstruction following the announced departure of historic president Imad Fattal (replaced by Oggie Kapetanovic), the Lions have secured the services of Bryan Colon, one of the most experienced and talented Swiss players in the championship. The leader of Dominican origin, 30 years old, signed a one-year contract, plus another optional.

Colon had been playing at Union Neuchâtel since 2016 and had settled there as captain. He is coming off his best exercise in the Swiss Basketball League, with averages of 15.1 points, 4.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 15.5 regular season rating. He was also the great architect of the beautiful course of the Neuchâtelois in the play-off, completed in the final against the ogre Friborg (17.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 15.8 evaluation).

Bryan Colon is the Lions’ third recruit this offseason, after Noé Anabir and Clayton Le Sann, from Union Neuchâtel and Monthey respectively.
