Detroit Tigers pitcher Casey Mize will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair his sprained elbow.
Injured since April 16, Casey Mize is still suffering from his sprained elbow. The former number 1 in the draft will know how to operate in the next to solve this problem. This is a real blow for Mize after a very good 2021 season where he compiled an ERA of 3.71 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 150 1/3 innings pitched.
Casey Mize will therefore be out for the rest of the season and possibly the 2023 season. The Tigers can therefore hope for a full return for the 2024 season.
