With the illusion intact, the Rinconada Badminton Club has set course this Sunday to the Polish city of Bialystok. Ten years have passed without competing in the European badminton ‘Champions’. A long period that ends this Tuesday, at 10.00, when he debuted against SMS Bialystok, the Polish champion and rival with whom they will play the pass to the quarterfinals. All matches will be played in the Sports Hall of Agricultural School Complex de Bialystok, with the group stage being played from Tuesday to Thursday, the quarterfinals on Friday morning, the semi-final in the afternoon and the grand final on Saturday. Badminton Rinconada has as a minimum objective to pass the group stageand from there calibrate and check the corner options to get to fight for the medals going to the semifinals.

The corner people are aware that their group is not the most favorable. In the first place, the fact of losing to the favourite, the French Chambly, makes the Sevillians know that they cannot fail beyond the match against the Gauls to get through to the final phase. For this, Antonio Molina will have the entire expedition and his gala team, from the English Rory Easton, Leona Lee y Tom Wolfenden to national players: Nerea Ivorra, Jaume Pérez, Carlos Piris, Laura Molina or Marta Molina. The full team is a plus of options for the cornerbacks who, unlike in the final of the league where they could not count on Rory Easton or Leona Lee, will have all their weapons in Poland to go as far as possible.

With enthusiasm and without pressure

Anthony Molina, before taking the flight to Poland from Seville airport, he was very excited to play again in this competition that brings back such good memories: «Today, without a doubt, I am remembering many things when I arrive here to leave for Poland. There are so many trips and so many experiences accumulated in Europe that, although this is not new for us, I have that feeling as if it were the first time. We are going to try by all means to play a good role and we are not going to be afraid of anyone or anything. I think it’s positive to go with the condition we’re in, because in other editions we’ve been under a bit of pressure to be at least in the semi-finals. this time let’s go without pressure and enjoy the experience, and that is why no matter what happens, we will be very proud of ourselves and of the season we have been carrying out. The fact of being able to be in Poland is the finishing touch to a great season. We were planning the next season, but playing in the European Club Championship has made us stop planning a bit and focus on this championship to arrive with the best feelings”.

Regarding the squad, Molina considers it positive to be able to have everyone available for the championship: «It is evident that carrying the whole combo is an added plus. I have the thorn of knowing what would have happened to our entire team in the final against IES The Order, but this is already past bull. We have never made an excuse of not having two key players in the final, just as now we see it as completely normal for Rory and Leona to be with us in Poland. We will fight to the maximum with all of themWell, the whole team I think does not have to fear anyone ».

Badminton Rinconada, which begins its journey on Tuesday, will play on Wednesday against Chambly Oise and on Thursday against Che Lagoense at the same time (10.00). Before, this Monday he will train on the ground where the championship will be played, to adapt to the track before the start of the competition. All the matches can be followed live on the television of the European Badminton Federation.
