ATP – Mallorca > Great first for Tsitsipas before Wimbledon

Not convinced by his start to the season on grass (two wins for two losses against Andy Murray and Nick Kyrgios, in Stuttgart and Halle), just after a disappointing Roland-Garros, Stefanos Tsitsipas had made the decision at the last moment to play the tournament from Mallorca this week.

He made the right choice since he won on the lands of Rafael Nadal his 9e career title and especially his first on grass, thanks to his victory this Sunday over Roberto Bautista Agut: 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (2), in 2h33 of play. He certainly trembled when serving to finish at 5–4, but he finally showed his mental toughness to go for the match and the tournament, a few minutes later at the tie-break.

The world number 6 was full of confidence before advancing to Wimbledon in a difficult part of the table in the company of Matteo Berrettini, Rafael Nadal and Felix Auger-Aliassime, but also Nick Kyrgios whom he could find at 3e tour.
