Recruited in January 2021 by Arsenal and since confined to the Gunners reserve, Omar Rekik returns to seek time in his native country, the Netherlands. The London club has indeed formalized the loan of the Tunisian international (3 selections) to Sparta Rotterdam, 14e from the Eredivisie last season.
Summoned for CAN 2021 (10 minutes played) but no longer called up afterwards, the 20-year-old central defender knows that he will have to impose himself within his new club if he hopes to have a chance to participate in the World Cup 2022 with the Eagles of Carthage. His older brother, Karim Rekik, Dutch international, plays for Sevilla FC.
