Eventually the call came that they hadn’t expected at all. FC Bayern was on the phone and wanted to know how things looked with Antonio Rüdiger and the future. Bayern Munich had just been knocked out by a side called Villarreal in the Champions League and they seemed to think it was a good idea to explore a few options that had previously not been considered worth exploring.
