Antioquia athletes continue to add medals at the 2022 Bolivarian Games

At the XIX Bolivarian Games 2022, in Valledupar, Antioquia athletes continue to stand out. In the Colombian medal table, the dams continue to increase, many of them added by the Antioquians. This continues to position the country in first place, with a total of 50 medals: 21 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze.

    In artistic gymnastics, Colombia won gold in the team category – women’s branch, where they prevailed over Peru (second place) and Panama (third place). The paisas Ginna Escobar Betancur, Juliana Ochoa Henao and María José Villegas Jiménez participated.

    In Bowling, paisa Maria José Rodríguez Ospina added points together with her partner and got gold in the doubles category – feminine. The silver went also to Colombia and the bronze to Guatemala and Venezuela.

    The silver medals obtained by Colombia on this third day, and in which the athletes of Antioquia registration had a leading participation, correspond to the disciplines of:

    Badminton: history was made in this sport with the silver medal that the Colombians achieved in the team category – open over their opponents from Peru.

    In this tricolor team, six of the seven participating athletes are from Antioquia: Michael Angel Quirama Tuberquia, Daniel Borja Aleans, John Fernando Executioner Palace, Dainne Marulanda Cano, Sarah Julieth Avila Tirado and Laura Valentina London.

    Fencing: In the women’s team sword category, the Colombians, with the presence of Alejandra Piedrahita in the team, won a silver medal in a highly competitive match with their opponents from Venezuela.

    Antioquia continues to stand out at the national level with the great athletes who leave the name of the department high.
