Anthony Ginting Advances to Top 8!

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting able to advance to the quarterfinals Malaysia Open 2022. He beat Sitthikom Thamsin two straight games 21-18 and 21-18.

In the first game at Axiata Arena, Thursday (30/6/2022) afternoon WIB, Ginting got fierce resistance from Thammasin. Chase after the numbers until a score of 15-15.

Ginting then got three additional points. However, Thamsin then cut the distance to just one point. Ginting was not overtaken until the first game was over, the score was 21-18.

The second gym is running, Ginting get two straight points. However, Thamsin replied by winning three points. Thamsin’s return made it 3-3 again.

At the interval Ginting was far behind. Thammasin was able to collect consecutive points to lead 11-7.

After wiping sweat, Ginting continued to cut points. The score margin was only two points away at 11-13. Ginting was able to equalize the points 14-14, after that the chase for the points occurred until the position was 16-16.

Ginting was able to win two consecutive points. After that, Ginting was not overtaken by closing the second game with a score of 21-18.

In the quarterfinals, Ginting will face the winner of the match between Viktor Axelsen and Lee Cheuk Yiu. In the previous men’s singles number, Indonesia had placed one representative in the quarter-finals. Jonathan Christie beat the Japanese representative, Kenta Nishimoto 21-18 and 21-17.
