Anne-Sophie Jura leaves the municipal council of Colfontaine

Change in the municipal council of Colfontaine. From the next meeting on June 28, Anne-Sophie Jura will no longer sit there. The ex-judokate elected in 2018 moves to Mons for personal reasons. She must therefore surrender her mandate.

But she will certainly keep very good memories of these three years spent on the board of Colfontaine. “It was a very good political experience for me, especially since I am very fond of the town of Colfontaine and its population. I was born there, I took my first steps in judo and at school there.“, says Anne-Sophie Jura. “Later, when I studied as a social worker, it was in Colfontaine that I did my internship. And that’s where the desire was born to bring something to the population and to help those in need.”

This desire to get involved in the service of the population resulted in a political commitment in 2018. During the municipal election, Anne-Sophie Jura was elected councilor under the colors of the PS. She then participated in the federal election and fell short of a seat in the House.

Today, Anne-Sophie Jura left the tatami mats of major competitions. But she still teaches judo in Frameries. She also gives conferences with Adeps. She also works in the office of the Walloon Minister-President, Elio Di Rupo. And if she has to hand over her mandate as adviser to Colfontaine, she does not intend to draw a line under politics.

“It’s still an emotion for me to leave Colfontaine, because I’m very attached to my origins. But I need a change in my personal life and that’s why I decided to move to Mons. C t’s also a city I’m very close to, I studied there, I met a lot of people there. It’s a very young and very dynamic city, especially with its universities. as much at home. Colfontaine is the town where I was born, Mons is the city where I want to continue to grow.”

With the desire to get involved also politically? “For the moment, I especially want to get my bearings in Mons and adapt to my new life. But politics retains an important place for me and I always want to bring my help to citizens, whether they are from Colfontaine, Mons or Wallonia”concludes Anne-Sophie Jura.
