Amiens SC approaches “with enough impatience” Ostend

Eight days after the resumption of collective training, Amiens SC is playing its very first preparation match, Friday against Ostend. A confrontation which, according to Philippe Hinschberger, will have a double objective: to see the first summer recruits at work and to validate the work week carried out in Le Touquet. Maintenance.

Philippe, what is your assessment of this training camp in Le Touquet?

A very good record. We have good working conditions, good weather conditions with almost no rain and good grounds. One would have to be difficult not to be satisfied with these conditions. We wanted to arrive on Sunday evening in order to be operational on Monday morning. So we did two sessions on Monday and Tuesday, a morning session on Wednesday, rest on Thursday morning, a session on Thursday afternoon then a final session on Friday morning before the friendly match. We took advantage of Wednesday to have a moment of cohesion outdoors based on mountain biking, canoeing, orienteering, running and biking and archery. It was quite nice.

How is the integration of recruits going?

For Paul (Charruau), we haven’t seen him too much yet but he is in any case the experienced goalkeeper we are looking for. We didn’t want to go on an adventure with people we don’t know, he has the merit of being able to play if we call on him. There were quite a few candidates, the choice fell on him, it is necessarily the right choice. Abdourahmane Barry shows a lot of maturity for a 22-year-old boy, it’s interesting. He is a solid player in his position. For Antoine Leautey, he brings speed and creativity to the side, with the ability to take up space, it’s very interesting. For Sebastian, he is a boy who has a good left foot and good individual technique. He clearly has canes by being very strong on his supports. Now, the impressions of the first days will be confirmed or not in the match. During the first week of training, it usually always goes well. So far, it’s positive anyway.

What was the content of the sessions throughout the week?

The idea was to slowly put in place what we want to do in terms of game principles, while continuing to work on the athletic aspect. The more we advance, the less we run but the more we put intensity. We are in the nails of what we want to do without any particular concern, apart from Aliou (Badji) who has always had a little pain in his pubis since the end of last week, Formose (Mendy) who also has a physical problem and Nicholas (Opoku ) who has a swollen knee. We’ll see if it can hold for tomorrow (Friday). On the other hand, Emmanuel Lomotey did not train after a sprain in training last Saturday, he will be forfeited. In any case, we are quite impatiently awaiting the first warm-up match without putting too much expectation on it.

What are your expectations for this first friendly match?

Unlike last year, with the first match against Camon, we have a team to offer and recruits to integrate. This is the main expectation around this game. If I refer to my experience last season of our friendlies against Belgian clubs, it will be anything but a friendly match. They are not there to pick lily of the valley and that is fine. We are going to get moving, we will have to put in maximum intensity to be able to compete with them. On the content, we also want to start setting up what we want to see during the season. We want to develop a ground-based game, with speed and verticality, which doesn’t mean we’re going to throw big balls in front. In any case, I expect a lot of attacking momentum from my team, which resembles that of November-December-January of last season.

Is this also an opportunity to test several game patterns?

Knowing that we are going to play without some players, we will see if I can do a three-man defense or a four-man defense. I can also do a half-time with three and a half-time with four, it will also depend on the players at my disposal. Wanting to force a game system with players not necessarily in their place is not very inspiring.
