Alba awarded 145 of its deserving athletes

On Tuesday 21 June in the Council Room “Teodoro Bubbio” of the Town Hall of Alba, 145 particularly excellent athletes from Alba in national and international competitions were thanked and awarded with plaques and parchments by the municipal administration through the Department of Sport, during the ceremony ” Alba Sports Awards “.

To receive the recognition Sara Bonifacio, volleyball champion from the City of Alba to Serie A. Absent in the room, the plaque was delivered to the president of the A.Sd L’Alba Volley Lorenzo Fogliani. Another recognition goes to Matteo Sobrero, winner of the 21st time trial stage of the Veronese Hills of 17.4 km with a time of 22 ’24’, at the Giro di Italia 2022. Also Sobrero absent from the ceremony for competitive reasons.


Recognition for the bronze medal for free body to Victoria Alexandra Nano of the a.sd Rhythmic Gymnastics. Always in the same sport, but at the sd G Gymnastics Alba awarded for the silver medal for the year 2021 8/10 students category international short program group aesthetic gymnastics to: Giada Cane, Lucia Campigotto, Greta Manera, Francesca Mazzuccato, Ginevra Amanda Sandu, Miriam Lanzone and Anna Rainero. With Gymnastics Alba, recognition for the title of national champions in the year 2021, start-up category 9/13 group aesthetic gymnastics to: Sofia Sigrist, Sara Bianco, Sofia Rubino and Lucia Rivella; for the silver medal year 2021 students category 10-12 international short program group aesthetic gymnastics, awarded Lucia Proglio, Alessia Cavallotto, Alice Borlengo, Debora Mo, Lucia Pisoni; for the title of national champions year 2021 students category 12-14 international short program group aesthetic gymnastics awards to Noemi Mariniello, Giulia Manzone, Micaela Giordano, Erisa Caushllari, Chiara Tibaldi and Greta Perego; for the title of national champions year 2021 category junior international short program group aesthetic gymnastics awarded Eva Petrova, Francesca Voglino, Federica Ferraris, Elena Imerito.




The youngsters of a.sd Alba Cheer – Titans were awarded for the 3rd place in the Senior Coed Elite category during the world championships in Orlando.

Acknowledgments also to the athletes of the a.sd Atletica Alba: to Pietro Riva absolute national record 10 km on junior category road; Elena Abellonio gold medal at the Italian championships category students.


For Alba Shuttle Badminton winners: Claudia Zunino Italian Master Championship Champion; Sofia Protto summoned with the national team to the Nations Future Cup 2022; Ezio Bossati for his participation in the 2021 Bwf World Senior Badminton Champion Ship.

Recognition also Carola Franza, bronze medal in figure skating junior category with the sd Victoria Alba Skating.

Acknowledgments also to the a.sd Gss Gruppo Sportivo Sordi Alba for their commitment in various sports and for the sporting merits achieved in the various disciplines. In the association awarded Fulvio Garabello, Stefano Capello, Clara Casini, Angelica Cenghiaro, Carlotta Ardesi, Valentina Nardulli, Chiaro Cecconi, Elisa Papazzo, Sara Batresi and Chiara Cuscela champions of Italy in women’s volleyball; Alberto Franchi and Luca Brandani for the gold medal in the men’s double padel.

The a.sd La Bocciofila Albese was also awarded for the bronze medal at the National Finals of the Regional Cup category B women.

Acknowledgment to the champions of the a.sd Alba Fencing Academy: Elena Ferrero bronze medal in two-handed sword; Umberta Riboldi bronze medal in female saber and bronze medal in female foil; Daniela Valorzi bronze medal in women’s sword; Martina Santi gold two-handed female sword; Beniamino Giordanetto bronze medal in two-handed sword and bronze medal in sword and open cape; Sandrino Richeri bronze medal in two-handed sword.

Plate also for Gabriele Regina European champion of Kickboxing junior category with the a.sd Kickboxing Center 2000 Alba.

The asd Alba Rugby has received recognition for their efforts in bringing young people closer to the game of Rugby. Within the same sports club the following were awarded: Chris De Meyer rugby champion, friend and inspiration of the current development model of Alba Rugby; Alessia Cagnotto from the asd Alba Rugby to the National Women’s Representative; Luca Spertino from the asd Alba Rugby to the National Men’s Representative.

The Apd Volleyball Alba asd has been awarded for promotion to the men’s national Serie B championship with its players and coaches: Fulvio Trosso, Fabrizio Gili, Francesco Mastrocola, Luca Varagnolo, Davide Manassero, Luigi Pezzoli (1st coach), Federico Torrengo (2nd coach), Stefano Quaglia (captain), Leonardo Polizzi, Filippo Corino, Francesco Altare, Igor Merlet, Kristian Turkaj, Lorenzo Marocco, Lorenzo Mariotti, Michael Menardo, Daniele Candela, Lorenzo Bianco, Andrea Magnone.

Recognitions also to the asd Area Calcio Alba Roero promoted to the LND first category regional championship; to the asd Alba Calcio for the historic victory with the conquest of the Italian Cup; to the asd Cinzano Rally Team for having brought, with dedication, passion and continuity, the Rally of Alba to be part of the Italian rally championship.

The numerous awards were handed over by the councilor delegated to Sport of the municipality flanked by the councilors, the head of the mayor’s office and the president of the municipal council.
