Ajax wins ‘Oscar for creativity’ | Football

The reason for this is not national title number 36, but 35. Last year, after having played almost completely without fans for a season, Ajax decided to melt the scale to more than 40,000 championship stars and distribute them among all season ticket holders. The Piece of Ajax promotion resulted in the top prize for the team from Amsterdam in the PR category.

The commercial director at Ajax, Menno Geelen, responds to this award. “We are thrilled to receive our most recent bowl in front of our fans and are already looking forward to the next silverware we hope to achieve on the pitch. But we are also proud of the worldwide appreciation for our creative work off the field, and this lion for Piece of Ajax in particular.”

The Cannes Lions are awarded during the annual Festival of Creativity that takes place this week. During this edition, only action from 2021 has a chance to win a prize.
