Ajax has signed Unibet as a new partner, the club announces through its own club channels. The collaboration with Unibet follows after Unibet received a license on June 8, 2022 to offer online games of chance in the Netherlands. Ajax has announced that in addition to a commercial partnership, the club and the gambling provider will also be committed to social projects, including in the field of responsible gaming, mental health and prevention of sports-related match fixing.
We are delighted to have Unibet as our newest partner”, says commercial director Menno Geelen. “Unibet is known worldwide as a forerunner in responsible gaming. This will receive explicit attention in our partnership. Unibet also distinguishes itself by a high-quality range of games that fans get a lot of fun from. We will also support that with joint content and activations. In addition, we will be committed to Unibet Impact.”
Lennart Kessels, General Manager of Unibet Netherlands is also proud of the new partnership with Ajax. “Within our partnership, we also invest in Unibet Impact, a unique program based on collaborations with parties from top and amateur sports and social organizations.” With Unibet Impact, the gambling beer focuses on education about responsible gaming, the prevention of match fixing and initiatives for supporters. “Specifically with Ajax, we want to focus on responsible play in relation to mental health,” says Kessels. “In the coming period, we will investigate how we are going to shape this exactly, while also learning from initiatives that we have already supported elsewhere in the world. We look forward to rolling this out together with Ajax.”
Unibet was founded in 1997 and is active in several countries. After obtaining the necessary license from the KSA (games of chance authority), the bookmaker now also enters the Dutch market. The Dutch website will therefore be launched shortly. Players can bet on a wide range of sports competitions and play exclusive online casino games via Unibet.
