Agustín Calleri will renew his mandate in the Argentine Tennis Association

Agustín Calleri, from Córdoba, will renew his mandate as president of the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT) for four years in an Assembly of the entity that will take place tomorrow afternoon at the Darling club.

During the act in the institution of the Buenos Aires neighborhood La Boca (Avenida Brasil 50) the balance of the last exercise will be approved and later a new management period will be validated for the current leadership in the absence of opposition lists.

In the first vice-presidency, Mariano Zabaleta, from Tandil, will continue, another member of the historic Argentine Legion together with Calleri, and Tomás Lynch, also a former tennis player but from the ’70s, will remain in the second.

The rest of the board of directors will be composed of César Francis (administrative secretary), Juan Luis Pérez (Interior secretary), Javier María Leal de Ibarra (legal secretary), Ignacio Uzquiza (treasurer), Santiago Bolla (treasurer); Marian Paula Morea, William Coria, Florence Molinero, Jorge Juan Cano, Louis Ten and Alfredo Folds (vocals).

Martin Jaite will join the Oversight Commission along with Silvia Cervasi, Cristian Callegari and Juan Pablo Davis.

Calleri, 45, became the 22nd president of the AAT since its constitution in 1921 when he prevailed over an Argentine tennis glory like José Luis Clerc by 165 to 131 votes in the May 2018 elections.

Previously, the leader of Río Cuarto had served in public office as head of the Córdoba Sports Agency and then as a national deputy for his province.

During his time as a professional tennis player (1995-2009), he was 16th in the ATP ranking, won two individual titles (Acapulco 2003 and Kitzbühel 2006) and participated in 14 Davis Cup series, including the 2006 finals (against Russia, in Moscow) and 2008 (against Spain, in Mar del Plata).
