ACB League champion

Real Madrid has been proclaimed this Sunday champion of the ACB Basketball League by defeating Barcelona in the fourth game of the final (81-74). In this way, the white team regains the throne of Spanish basketball and gets his 36th League.

Thus, it has not been necessary to resort to the fifth match – which would have been played in Barcelona – since the white team has won three of the four games: he won the first in Barcelona and the two that have been played in Madrid. He only lost the second, a defeat that also resulted in a great refereeing controversy.

The real Madrid has been better again in this fourth game in which he dominated practically the entire duel, at times with advantages of more than 10 points, although Barcelona also recovered, becoming ahead in some isolated plays, especially in the third quarter, when he saw the comeback more closely. Nevertheless, Madrid did not collapse and in those moments in which Barça approached or took the lead, they had no problems in commanding the result again.

Pablo Laso’s team – still absent from the bench as he continues to recover from the heart attack he suffered – was much better in the first quarterin which they picked up an advantage that, however, little by little Barcelona came from behind, who beat Madrid by one point in the second quarter, while the third ended in a draw.

An always superior Madrid

With just one point ahead, Madrid started last and decisive fourth, in which when it was most demanded they put the turbo and confirmed his great victory, reaching +8 with four minutes left. This distance was maintained in that final stretch in which Barcelona threatened to get closer but did not succeed. They got to five, but an action by Causeur in which he took a basket plus a personal foul confirmed the white victory and caused the redemption of the culé, who already realized that they could not take the final to the fifth game.

It is Real Madrid’s 36th league in historywhich makes a big difference to Barcelona, which has 19. With this victory, the white club regains the ACB League title, which it has not won since 2019.
