The Liverpool FC professional combines all the skills that make a super striker. His move enriches the record champions and the Bundesliga. And might change a star’s plans.

When Sadio Mané actually shows up in Munich at the beginning of the week and signs his three-year contract for Bayern, then not only the German record champions have landed a coup, but the entire Bundesliga. The 30-year-old Senegalese is one of the world football stars who find a place in every team. His arrival preserves what was once the best league in the world, which has long been smiled at by the Premier League, the residual shine that would have been lost with the departure of Erling Haaland and the likely farewell to Robert Lewandowski.

“Yes, he’s coming,” Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed to Sky after returning from the crucial negotiations with Liverpool FC on Friday. The leaked numbers of the deal, if they are correct, flatter Bayern. Mané is said to come for a basic fee of 32 million euros, which could increase to 41 million euros through bonus payments for sporting success.
