A beautiful end of season gala for SLO Judo

BETTANCOURT-LA-FERREE

Saturday, June 18, afternoon, the SLO judo organized its end-of-year gala to close the 2021-2022 season.

This gala was named “Dominique Martin”, in tribute to the club’s ex-treasurer, who died six months ago. The president of the club, Cyril Frêche, gave a speech in his memory followed by applause in tribute to all his involvement within the club.

Despite the heat, a large number of judokas still responded. The members of the office had put in place several means to try to mitigate the effects of the heat (foggers, fans and more frequent breaks).

During the gala, all age categories performed several demonstrations which were greatly appreciated by the public. The technical director, Jérémy Jonval, honored the judokas who have distinguished themselves this season, notably with numerous qualifications for the French championships in different age categories. He also highlighted the sports coach, Hugo Claudepierre, who has been training at the club for ten years now and the president, Cyril Frêche, who will arrive in January at ten years of presidency. “The season was therefore very good for SLO judo which recorded 136 licensees, a record for more than 25 years! “, rejoiced Jérémy Jonval, technical director of the club.

At the end of the gala, the coaches of the club proceeded to the traditional handing-over of diplomas of belts which made the happiness of the children in the presence of the mayor of the commune, Dominique Laurent.

“The season is not quite over because the children’s lessons will end on June 24 and the teen-adult lessons in mid-July,” concluded Jérémy Jonval.
