26,600 euros between 29 athletes

The president of the Ángeles Armisén Provincial Council, accompanied by the deputy for the Culture and Sports area, Carolina Valbuena, and the deputy for sports, Francisco Pérez, awarded scholarships to 29 athletes in individual modalities, with scholarships ranging between 600 and 3,000 euros.

The total of these scholarships, which include 13 sports modalities, are intended to cover part of the expenses generated by the precise preparation for the development and technical improvement of athletes, amounting to 26,600 euros.

For the granting of scholarships, and determination of their amount, the participation of athletes in federated activities or competitions throughout this season has been taken into account.

As established in the bases published at the time, participation in official championships, expenses and income of the athlete in relation to sports practice, quality of the project for all of 2022 and the fact of having given talks or activities aimed at promoting their sport, sports habits or equality and the prevention of violence in sport since January 1, 2021.

The Provincial Council, a firm defender of grassroots sports promoted by clubs in the province, launches an aid program each year for sports clubs for events and extraordinary events. This year, endowed with a global amount of 15,700 euros.

Both lines of economic support from the provincial institution to the world of sport are independent of the twenty-six agreements that the Palencia Provincial Council signs with as many clubs in the province for a combined amount that is close to three hundred thousand euros, with which they are usually supports clubs with higher category teams, as well as those that organize the most outstanding competitions and events on the provincial calendar, or those that have a greater capacity for mobilization and activity to promote grassroots sport.
