Winning the Champions League was a life satisfaction for Courtois

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois considers the triumph in the Champions League to be a great satisfaction. The Belgian national team was the hero of the match in a 1-0 victory over Liverpool and, thanks to several key interventions, also won the award for the best player of the match.

After eight years, the 30-year-old goalkeeper made up for the final disappointment, when he lost his “eared” cup in a duel with Real in a duel with Real only after a balancing goal in the setting and subsequent overtime.

“An incredible dream come true. The best moments of my life, along with the birth of my children,” Courtoise was quoted as saying by Reuters. “Once you lose the finals, you can appreciate the win even more. It was the last big trophy I missed, I sacrificed everything,” he said.

Real was under pressure for Saturday’s final at the Stade de France in Paris. Liverpool overshot the opponent 23: 3, “White Ballet”, but Vinícius Júnior’s goal from the 59th minute was enough for the 14th triumph in the most prestigious club competition.

Especially thanks to Courtois, who caught Salah several times and, at a great chance, another offensive star “Reds” Mané pushed the ball to the post.

“It was the most important intervention. I had to use every inch of my two meters to hit the ball,” Courtois told UEFA. “Even after the first intervention in the match, I felt that no one would score me tonight. I was incredibly determined to win the Champions League,” he said.

The Belgian national team leader believes that after the triumph in the millionaire competition, she will finally receive recognition. “I’ve won a lot of trophies with a lot of clubs, but this is a dream. When I came to the club of my heart, a lot of people criticized me. I needed to win such a final,” said Courtois.
