For the first time since 2006, Andreas Seppi is not in the main draw of the French Open. Instead, the Kalterer is present at the Challenger in Vicenza. There he missed the leap into the round of 16.

Seppi (ATP 136) lost the match of the day against Andrea Arnaboldi (ATP 221) in two sets with 1: 6 and 6: 7 (5) at the clay court tournament in the Veneto region. While Seppi was unable to counteract much in the first set, the second round was hard fought.

Although Seppi was two breaks behind, the 38-year-old fought back so that the tie-break had to decide in the end. In this Arnaboldi kept the upper hand with 7:5 points. The 34-year-old from Milan won the first duel between the two after 1:38 hours.

An incredible series came to an end for Seppi last Monday when he got stuck on Italian Giulio Zeppieri (ATP 215) in the first qualifying round of the French Open. The Überetscher was previously in a whopping 66 Grand Slam tournaments in a row without missing one.
