Versus / Guaraní punishes hard in Mallorca and sinks the crisis of General Caballero

Opening 2022

In a fantastic and very effective second half, Guaraní ended up beating General Caballero 4-0, in Juan León Mallorquín, for date 17 of the Apertura 2022 tournament. Alberto Contrera broke the ice in the 66th minute, showing the path of what it ended up being a gold-black festival.

The match was quite brave for Fernando Jubero’s team, who met a brave local team that was looking for a hopeful victory, to enhance the weak process that it has been holding with the Argentine coach, Luciano Theiler.

But, even in his weakest moment, it was the “Cacique” who managed to string together the best actions. The first warning came from their historic scorer, Fernando Fernández, who in the 12th minute caused the rival goalkeeper, Gustavo Arévalos, to scare the hell out of him with a shot from the top that demanded it to the maximum.

Just three minutes later, “Fer-Fer” was left wanting to break the ice again; he shot cross and missed the goal in an incredible way. The General Caballero thing was more impetus, more claw, than good football, during almost the entire game.

Halftime came with a goalless draw, but only because Alberto Contrera’s left-footed shot, in the 43rd minute, ended up crashing into the crossbar.

-He destroyed a rival in crisis-

The second half began without much encouragement. The first minutes of the complement made it seem like an impossible mission for the teams to score a goal. Until in the 66th minute the ball was in the possession of Josué Colmán, the great figure of the commitment, and there was a bit of magic.

The n.10 of “Indio” made a filtered pass and the capricious reached “Piru” Contrera, who defined as a true master against Gustavo Arévalos and opened the tap of the goals.

Wounded in his self-esteem and with the need to go out and attack, the “Majorcan Red” began to leave spaces behind and paid dearly; he lowered his guard and received all kinds of goals.

Marcelo González, who had jumped onto the field of play instead of Contrera, was in charge of increasing the difference in the 81st minute. Again Josué dressed as an assistant and Marcelito ended up breaking Arévalos’ goal.

And the aurinegra party in Alto Paraná was getting better and better for the “Cacique” fans. The academy player Bernardo Romeo Benítez had the luxury of registering his first sacred cry in the highest category, in the 88th minute.

And then, just before the final whistle, the goal that was missing came, yes, that of Fernando Fernández, the historic scorer that the Dos Bocas team has.

In this way, Guaraní ended up winning, liking and scoring, to confirm that he is having his best moment in the semester. Fernando Jubero’s team won their third in a row and has already climbed to fifth position with 24 points.

For his part, General Caballero de Mallorquín is still in intensive care and his situation is becoming more and more complicated. With his new defeat, he already fell to the last position of the average table.

Resistencia and Sol de América signed a bitter goalless draw this Saturday at the Jardines del Kelito, for date 17 of the Intermediate Division 2022. Faced with the impossibility of winning, the two teams ended up satisfied with the point achieved, thinking of making it count for enter an international competition at the end of the season.

The Chacariteño team chose the Mburicaó neighborhood to officiate as the local, but it was far from asserting its role as host in the process of the game. From start to finish, a game was played that was too balanced and with isolated occasions that in one way or another could have changed the fate of the match.

The first strong innuendo was for Resistencia. The versatile Wilfrido Báez, who played on the right side this Saturday, shook with a crawling shot with his left foot that activated the saving stretch of Luis Ojeda, goalkeeper from Sol.

The most important play that the team led by Roberto Torres had in the match was recorded in the 34th minute, when Diego Martínez headed over the crossbar. Only in the rival area, “Chino” aimed a little high and wasted an excellent opportunity.

In the second half the ideas did not appear either. Both teams preferred to prioritize balance and defensive security and there was almost no turbulence in front of the goals.

One of the few chances was for the Argentine Nicolás Maná, who reached the shooting zone but missed the goal in an incredible way in the 55th minute. He hit him with the less skillful one, the left foot, and was exposed.

Something quite strange that happened was also the decision of the coach from Sol, Celso Ayala, to make a single change; he sent Nildo Viera to the field of play instead of José Verdún. He then preferred not to use the two modifications more than he had left over.

Nor was it a game of strong legs and a true reflection of this has been the number of yellow cards shown by referee Carlos Paul Benítez; only one, to Wildo Alonso.

With the tie, Resistencia remains in fourth position with 28 points and Sol de América is fifth, with 22 units. The Chacariteño team, which faces Cerro Porteño on the next date, has gone two games without being able to score a goal. While the Dancer had just defeated the “Cyclone” on the last date.

Paraguayans abroad

21 May 17:14

The Paraguayan defender, Omar Alderete, has had a fairly regular season with Valencia from Spain, a team that was a finalist in the Copa del Rey and that, in the absence of a date for the end of the championship, is in seventh position with 56 points.

Since he landed in Spanish territory, in July of last year, the footballer who emerged from the Cerro Porteño youth academy has managed to play 34 games with the Valencia shirt; 29 for LaLiga and 5 for Copa del Rey. He also managed to register two goals, both for the league championship.

Faced with this situation and with the purchase option in their favor, Valencia would have made the decision to pay the clause and permanently retain the services of the Paraguayan National Team player, who had come on loan from Hertha Berlin in Germany.

“Valencia has decided to make use of the purchase option for the Paraguayan defender Omar Alderete. The club will pay 7,500,000 euros to Hertha Berlin before 6/30, the stipulated deadline,” said César Merlo, an Argentine journalist specializing in transfer issues.
