Avezzano. The carabinieri of the operational and mobile unit of the Avezzano company arrested a 40-year-old and a 21-year-old for resisting a public official and possession of drugs.
It happened yesterday afternoon, in via Nuova di Avezzano. During a patrol in the outskirts of the city, the military personnel identified a suspicious car and decided to check the occupants. The intercepted vehicle, an Alfa 156, showed signs of stopping, then suddenly resuming its march and fleeing towards the Fucino.
The patrol of the radio-mobile nucleus set off in pursuit, reaching the vehicle after several kilometers, which in the meantime went off the road in the countryside surrounding the municipality of Celano. The military immediately blocked the driver and a passenger, who however resisted, seeking a struggle in an attempt to continue the escape on foot. The two soldiers suffered minor injuries, which were then treated at the Avezzano hospital.
Once stopped, the two men were subjected to personal and vehicle searches. In the cockpit of the vehicle, the carabinieri found and seized about 20 grams of cocaine, divided into doses.
The two were then arrested for resisting a public official and the 21-year-old driver of the vehicle will also be responsible for the crime of possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing.
At the end of the judicial police operations, the arrested were made available to the prosecutor on duty of the Avezzano Public Prosecutor’s Office, who ordered house arrest pending the setting of the validation hearing requested from the investigating judge of the same court.
