The paisa badminton rackets won the senior category in the recent national tournament held in the city of Pereira

The best badminton representatives in the country met at the Coliseo Menor de Pereira, between May 19 and 22, to compete in the Válida Nacional of the under 17 and older categories. This competitive meeting served as the beginning of the classifications for the next National Sports Games in 2023, which will take place in the Coffee Region. (Courtesy photo)

This valid event, led by the Colombian Badminton Federation, brought together eight from Colombian leagues. The Antioquians left the white and green colors high, being first in the older category, by adding: three gold medals, two silver and eight tan.

Oro:

• Mixed doubles. Manuela Restrepo and Miguel Quirama.
• Men’s doubles. Miguel Quirama and Daniel Borja.

Plata:
• Men’s individual. Daniel Borgia.
• Men’s doubles. John Berdugo and Dainne Marulanda

Bronzes:
• Women’s individual. Stephanie Tamayo.
• Men’s individual. Emerson Barrientos and Miguel Quirama.
• Mixed. (Laura Londoño and Dainne Marulanda and Emerson Barrientos and Ana Sofía Higuita).
• Women’s Doubles (Ana Sofía Higuita and Estefanía Tamayo and Manuela Restrepo and Sara Ávila).
• Men’s doubles (Yojhan Herrera and Emerson Barrientos).

The next national badminton valid will be held between June 30 and July 3, 2022, in Cundinamarca.
