In the Triathlon final, held in La Lastrilla, the athletes from Cuéllar completed a great role

In Tennis and Paddle, the victories were distributed among the players from the province, who in the lower categories were better than those from the capital

After the dispute a couple of weeks ago of the provincial finals of School Sports in the modalities of Futsal, Table Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, Racquetball, Cross Country and Chess, last weekend it was the turn of the athletes registered in the Sports Schools of the Diputación demonstrate their skills in the disciplines of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Padel, Triathlon and Tennis, whose final had to be postponed to May 7 due to the bad weather of the penultimate weekend of May.

In this way, there were hundreds of young people, from categories between Prebenjamín and Juvenile, both from the province and the capital, who gathered at the different calls, held in the Pedro Delgado pavilion, on the slopes of La Albuera and in the municipality of La Lastrilla, which resulted in a significant number of successes for athletes from the Segovian towns.

A clear example of this was the Rhythmic Gymnastics finals, where, among nearly a hundred participants from Segovia, El Real Sitio de San Ildefonso, Riaza and Ayllón, the performance of gymnasts from the northeast stood out. Not in vain, in the group category, the Alevín B and the Prebenjamín de Riaza were the most outstanding, while, in the individual category, the Riazana alevines, Ariadna Montero, Noelia Benito and Laura Ruiz, in that order, took the podium. In individual Benjamín the best were Silvia Martín and Alba Nieto from Ayllón and in Prebenjamín, Angela Lesma from Riaza achieved the best score followed by Lucía Navas and Martina Arribas from Ayllón.

Finally, in Infantil, Ayllón climbed to the first two drawers with Adela Hernando and Aitana Montes.

While these towns monopolized the leading role in the Rhythmic Gymnastics finals, in those corresponding to Triathlon, held on Sunday in La Lastrilla, it was Cuéllar who, demonstrating that Marina Muñoz has a trail, triumphed, in a special way, in the categories destined for More smalls. And it is that, in Prebenjamín, both female and male, the cuellaranos had no rival and occupied the two podiums with Bárbara Gómez, Noa de la Fuente and Julia Hernando on the one hand and Mario Gómez, Mikel Aragón and Felipe Gordo on the other. In the male Benjamín, Jaime Herguedas and Daniel García were first and second and in the female Martina Sanz was second. In the Alevín category there were also representatives from Cuellar on the podiums, both female and male, with Irene Arranz and Laia Ochoa second and third and Damián Bermúdez second. The last category with representatives of the province on the podium was the Feminine Infantil, where Amanda García from Espinariega triumphed and Blanca Gómez from Cuellar occupied third position, and the rest of the podiums were occupied by representatives of the institutes and colleges of the capital.

More spread out were the victories in the Padel and Tennis matches, which on the slopes of La Albuera crowned El Espinar and San Cristóbal de Segovia as the best pairs of Padel in the female and male Benjamin category respectively. In Alevín, on the part of the girls, La Lastrilla won, while, on the boys’ side, the best duo came from Navas de Riofrío. With some emotion, La Lastrilla managed to prevail in the male Cadet category against Concepcionistas and in a relatively simple match, Nava de la Asunción defeated Claret in the final match of the female youth team.

Finally, with regard to Tennis, whose participants reached the finals with the nerves of having been forced, due to the weather, to extend the sentence of the competition, the triumphs also made it constant that the tennis level of the athletes The base of the entire province is even and that the quality is distributed throughout the territory, with the capital being able to prevail only in the Alevín feminine and Juvenile masculine finals.

Thus, in the women’s Benjamin, the best was Eva Pascual, from Sanchonuño, while Rodrigo Muñoz, from Palazuelos de Eresma, won for the men’s team. Mateo Rosa, from La Lastrilla, managed to win the men’s Alevín final and in Infantil the triumphs went to Jimena Herrero, from Torrecaballeros, and Marcos Muñoz, from Palazuelos de Eresma. In addition, this municipality was able to celebrate the success of its neighbors Celia Cambronero, in the Cadet category, and Jimena de Pablos, in the Women’s Youth category, while Alejandro Duque, from Espirdo, completed the outstanding list of athletes from the Sports Schools of the province.

In any case, the best of the days on Saturday and Sunday, as several of the competitors assured, was the family atmosphere and sportsmanship experienced throughout both days. And it is that, as they are in charge of moving the monitors that each year teach these little athletes the skills and techniques of each activity, the most important thing is to learn that camaraderie, effort and respect for the rival are the best medals that a athlete can be hung.
