Soccer player Srdjan Plavšič was happy to finally score the first competition goal for Slavia since last year’s arrival from rival Sparta. And the shot was really great.
The 26-year-old Serbian universal broke the long wait on Sunday in the 3rd round of the league superstructure group for the title against Slovakia with a breathtaking lobby from 40 meters into an empty goal.
After a misunderstanding between the visitors’ keeper Filip Nguyen in the front of the goal after 29 minutes, Plavšič managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. His team aimed to win 3: 0.
“I knew the goalkeeper was out. I tried it, it fell there and it was a nice goal. Probably the most beautiful in my career,” Plavšič delighted. “Of course I don’t give many goals, it’s once in a lifetime. I’m very happy for that,” he said.
His stronger leg is a lefty, which is why he patted his right thigh on a successful lobe. “I wanted to show that I can do it with my right hand,” Plavšič laughed. “I had my first breast touch, I couldn’t play left, so I tried my right hand. Sometimes I try it with her in training, of course not from such a distance. If you try it in training, why not in a match? I try to use both legs, today it worked out, “he praised himself.
Of course, Slavia coach Jindřich Trpišovský also knows about his weakness in the form of a game with his right foot. That’s why, at first, he wondered what his charge was doing. “In my mind, I was a little cursing that he was trying this at all,” the coach admitted on the club’s website. “The first time he kicked the balloon, I thought we would do it differently and go into open defense,” he added.
But then he also watched enthusiastically as the ball sailed into the net. “Even with the way he was shot with his body outside the goal, how he hit it, it’s unbelievable. He chose a brilliant solution, I’m looking into my memory to see if I’ve ever seen a nicer goal,” said Trpišovský.
Serbian šikul coaches urge him not to be afraid to play with his right hand. “If we criticize him a lot, it’s that he doesn’t use his right foot at all, which he doesn’t have at all wrong,” the coach admitted. “There are times when he can help her, but he doesn’t do much and he knows it. That’s why it was a surprise for me at that moment,” he repeated.
Plavšič from Sparta came to Slavia before the season and so far he has only scored for the team from Eden in the preparatory match with Ostrava. “Every match I had in my head that I had not scored any goal yet. I had some assistance, but I waited a long time for the goal,” he knew.
Trpišovský was also glad that the long wait was over. “Srki’s all coaches beat almost every training that he doesn’t finish and don’t shoot. He loses the situation even in the unloaded positions,” said the strategist of the red and white team.
“He still defends himself that he would rather pass than shoot. We know which positions he will not finish in training and in the match, and then he will decide for this. It was a beautiful, unreal kick. “It was really unreal,” Trpišovský could not get enough.
Thanks to Plavšič, Slavia maintained the hope of defending the title. The two laps before the end of the superstructure continue to lose two points from second place in the table to the leader Plzeň.
