the experience and talent of Salvatore Leo, for the playoffs

BRINDISI – Limongelli Dinamo Basket Brindisi is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement until the end of the season with Salvatore Leo, 202 cm big forward. Brindisino doc, born in 1986, is a well-known name among Apulian basketball fans by virtue of the leading role he held for years at Invicta Brindisi, a team to which he has been linked for over 10 seasons (2231 points – 14.6 average in 153 races).

Raised in the youth teams of New Basket Brindisi and a member of the team that participated in the Serie B1 championship, in the 2007/2008 season he began his brilliant basketball career at Basket Corato in Serie B2. The following year he moved to Pallacanestro Mola, in C Dilettanti, where he will stay for 2 seasons, closing at almost 10 points on average, reaching the promotion playoffs in both years.

In 2011 he returned to his city: he was inextricably linked to Invicta Brindisi, the historic club of the capital, dominating the Serie C and D championships for years. Many athletes, even of considerable depth, with whom he shared the dressing room: first of all our head coach Antonio Cristofaro, Fabio Morrone (Italian champion with Benetton Treviso), Luigi Minghetti, Andrea Malamov and many others, up to our Brizio Rollo, Vincenzo Pulli and Andrea Scivales. Numerous participations in the promotion playoffs in recent years, always played as a protagonist, as happened in the current season – always with the Invicta shirt in Serie D – dragging the team to the promotion poule.

The derbies of recent years with Dinamo are memorable (one test above all: the 35 points in 2017/18) where the Brindisi winger has always left the field to the applause of the two fans, testifying to the charisma and above all to the talent. Known and appreciated by all the members of the Limongelli Brindisi 21/22 roster, Salvatore Leo represents the right addition to a team that has played an extraordinary season (record with 23 wins and only 3 defeats) and which has already passed the quarter-finals playoffs.

His physicality, together with his excellent ballistic skills, will help coach Cristofaro to better face this final rush towards winning promotion. Limongelli Dinamo Brindisi would like to sincerely thank the friends of Invicta Brindisi for having granted the transfer of the player, with the sporting season still in progress. Dinamo will return to the field on Sunday 8 May, at 18:00, on the PalaZumbo parquet in Via dei Mille in Brindisi, to face the Nardò Academy in the match valid for game 1 of the playoff semifinal of the Serie C Silver championship.
