The 40th Reus School Olympiad ends tomorrow with the traditional closing ceremony

The ceremony will close with the now traditional lowering of the Olympic flag and the blackout of the cauldron flame until the next edition

This Friday, May 27, starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Olympic Pavilion, the closing ceremony of the 40th School Olympiad will take place. During the act, the medals of the Cultural Olympiad will be awarded, incorporated after the good acceptance of last year, and the prizes of the artistic contest and the literary contest. As a novelty this year, the ceremony has incorporated the finals of rhythms and dances and it will be possible to see the exhibition of 17 dance groups that will then be scored by the jury.

The 40th edition of the Reus School Olympiad has brought together, from May 2 to May 22, 1,800 5th and 6th grade students from 45 schools in Reus and the Baix Camp region who they have competed in thirteen sports disciplines (hockey 3, mini-basketball, soccer 7, Catalan bitlles, futsal, athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, chess, swimming, badminton, table tennis, rhythms and dances and paddle tennis). At the same time, the Cultural Olympiad was held, a new area to promote the values ​​of sport such as camaraderie and teamwork and historical knowledge of sporting events.

The School Olympiad is an event organized by the Reus City Council through Reus Esport i Lleure and the Baix Camp Sports Council and has the aim of promoting school sports and the spirit of participation and competition in schools.
