DRomanian tennis player Irina-Camelia Begu has apologized for her racquet throw at the French Open. In her second round match against the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrowa, Begu threw her racket on the ground near the bench at the beginning of the third set after a backhand that had clearly gone wide. From there he flew in a high arc onto the small grandstand of Court 13 and lightly hit a small boy sitting there.
“It was an awkward moment for me, so I don’t want to say too much about it. I just want to apologize,” said Begu: “Something like this has never happened to me in my entire career, so I can only say sorry.”
